Dakota Johnson Reveals Injury She Got While Filming 50 Shades

During a recent promotional interview with Pedro Pascal for their film Materialists, Dakota Johnson shared details about an injury she sustained while filming Fifty Shades of Grey. However, her description of the incident sent her co-star into fits of laughter. Here’s what she said.

Dakota Johnson says she ‘got whiplash’ while filming 50 Shades

Dakota Johnson recently appeared with Pedro Pascal on Vogue’s Off the Cuff series, where they posed rapid-fire questions to each other.

The two stars can be seen laughing throughout most of the Q&A session. However, things took an interesting turn after Johnson asked the question, “Have you ever had any accidents while filming?”

Pascal answered that he had “gotten hurt for real” while filming. Famously, The Last of Us actor had gotten injured on the set of The Mandalorian. The story of this injury was chronicled in Disney+’s Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian. He got injured after walking into a piece of plywood, resulting in a gash on the bridge of his nose. He was then given medical treatment, resulting in seven stitches across the bridge of his nose.

In response to Pascal’s answer, Johnson shared that she had also gotten hurt while filming. When Pascal asked her for details, the Suspiria actress replied that she got “whiplash” from Fifty Shades of Grey.

Both actors then entered a silent laughing fit, with Pascal then getting up to compose himself. The Fantastic Four: First Steps actor claimed that Johnson’s Fifty Shades injury story was his “favorite thing.”

“It’s all meaningless after that,” he added.

Johnson was referring to the injury she sustained from being thrown down on the bed several times while filming a scene for the movie. She had previously opened up about the incident in a 2015 Yahoo Movies UK interview. In the interview, Johnson noted that she had done “17 takes,” resulting in her neck getting “snapped back all day,” adding that she “couldn’t move” her neck after waking up.
