Trace Cyrus slams Billy Ray Cyrus after he skips grandma’s funeral

Trace Cyrus took to Instagram on June 10 to publicly criticize his father, Billy Ray Cyrus. The 36-year-old musician called his father “pathetic” and “delusional,” criticizing him for skipping the funeral of Trace’s grandmother to attend a fashion show in Italy.

Alongside a photo of Billy Ray Cyrus, Trace wrote, “This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic.” He added, “Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn’t come even after the plane was paid for.”

The musician wrote that he was “embarrassed” to have ever idolized him, calling him “the lamest man to ever walk planet Earth.” He said watching his father decline had motivated him to push harder in life, vowing never to become “a washed-up, delusional, evil person” in old age. He ended the post by urging Billy Ray to “get right with God,” adding, “Christ is King.”

Comments were turned off on the original post. However, fans expressed their opinions on his latest post. One user even suggested that his outburst is a “cry for help.” However, Trace clarified that he no longer cared if he ever spoke to Billy Ray again. He stated that he considered his father a “lost cause.” He also added, “I’ll continue to thrive as the oldest son of the family. The Cyrus name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have.”

Trace Cyrus also shared a follow-up Instagram Story mocking Billy Ray’s hairstyle. He wrote, “And why does he think that homeless hairstyle looks good? So weird.”
