The Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom is relying on his “emotional support” dog, Biggie Smalls, as rumors regarding his alleged split with Katy Perry surface online. After arriving on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, Bloom shared that his pup is his “emotional support animal” and that he is “very emotional right now.” He added that he needed “a whisper of a dog,” hence, he has been keeping Biggie close for the last ten months.
Meanwhile, rumors suggest that Bloom and his partner Katy Perry are going through a “rough patch.” The couple reportedly have been spending time apart. A source previously told US Weekly, “They’ve grown apart and aren’t living the same lives anymore.”
Another insider reportedly claimed that Perry and Bloom’s relationship is essentially “over.” The source told Page Six, “They are waiting till her tour is over before they split.” Perry is currently on her concert tour, Lifetimes, which concludes on December 7.
Additionally, sources have also reportedly divulged the cause of Perry and Bloom’s “tension.” Previously, an insider told PEOPLE, “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album.” The album, titled 143, was released on September 20, 2024.
The insider further noted that the reception of the album made Perry “stressed.” The source claimed, “Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.” A second insider told the publication, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”
The “Teenage Dream” crooner and The Three Musketeers star got together in 2016. A year later, the couple confirmed that they’d broken up. However, they reunited in 2018. Fast forward to 2019, Perry and Bloom get engaged and move in together.
Following their engagement, the celebrity pair welcomed their first daughter, Daisy Dove, on August 26, 2020. Bloom gushed over his baby daughter on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, calling Dove a “mini me.” The British actor revealed, “It was funny because when she first came out I was, ‘Oh it’s me it’s a mini-me!’ Then fortunately she got those Katy blues which was perfect” (via PEOPLE).
