Blake Lively made a striking return to the public eye on June 9 amid the dismissal of Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit. She appeared at Chanel’s Tribeca Artists Dinner in New York just hours after a major legal development. Lively smiled confidently as she opted for a white floral dress and heels.

Earlier, a federal judge dismissed a $400 million countersuit brought by Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer Studios, against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloane, and Sloane’s firm Vision PR. The suit accused the group of defamation, extortion, and interfering with business contracts, among several other claims. It was filed in retaliation to Lively’s own lawsuit from December 2024. In that case, she accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a retaliatory campaign to damage her reputation.

Baldoni had also taken legal action against The New York Times, seeking $250 million in damages over its reporting on Lively’s original complaint. The court dismissed that case on Monday. Marvel Studios, which was previously drawn into the matter over Reynolds’ satirical character, Nicepool, was also officially released from the case.

However, the judge left open the option for Baldoni’s legal team to amend two specific claims: breach of implied covenant and tortious interference. However, they need to file by June 23 if they choose to proceed.

Blake Lively’s lawyers described the recent development in the Justin Baldoni lawsuit as “a total victory.” They also added, “As we have said from day one, this ‘$400 million’ lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it.”

In her statement shared on Instagram, the actress expressed her appreciation for the people who supported her. Lively also added that she is “more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story.” (via People)
