Dakota Johnson lists her number one dating non-negotiable
Dakota Johnson appeared on a TODAY interview on June 9, alongside Chris Evans, to promote their new film, Materialists. In the interview, Craig Melvin asked the stars what would be the deal breaker if they were to describe their perfect match to a matchmaker.
Evans, who is currently married to Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, first responded, noting that his prospective partner “must love dogs.” The Captain America actor added, “Gotta love dogs. If you’re not a dog person, what are we doing?” Melvin then told Johnson that she fit Evans’ dating requirement. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress responded with her own dating requirement, saying, “Like not an a——hole.”
Johnson’s response sparked laughter amongst those present for the interview and the rest of the TODAY crew. Evans chuckled, saying, “That’s concise. There it is! Nail on the head.” Meanwhile, Melvin replied, “Well, OK, alright,” and pointed out that TODAY would be required to “clean that (response) up for the West Coast,” but said that it was alright.
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin, who had an eight-year on-and-off relationship, reportedly split recently. A source told PEOPLE that they believed the couple’s split felt “final this time.”
Moreover, The U.S. Sun claimed via a source that there were two points of contention in Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin’s relationship. They were the couple’s 13-year age gap and the topic of children. The source alleged that Johnson was “desperate” for her and Martin’s relationship “to work out for years” and that every time the couple split, the actress “was devastated and in tears.”
