The rumored feud between Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood has generated a lot of interest among fans of the series and the two stars themselves. In a joint interview with Variety, the pair sat down and discussed the speculations. Goggins revealed the candid truth behind why he unfollowed Aimee Lou Wood on Instagram.
When asked about the reason behind the unfollow, Goggins revealed, “There is no feud.” He noted, “I adore, I love this woman (Aimee Lou Wood) madly, and she is so important to me.”
After praising Aimee Lou Wood’s talent as an actress, the 53-year-old went into detail about their personal narrative. The Fallout star stated, “She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”
Wood added to the conversation by saying, “Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a s— about Instagram … Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing.”
Next, Goggins explained that he has a process about how to say “goodbye” to a character and a show. He spoke about Thailand, where Season 3 of The White Lotus was filmed, and his personal history with the place.
The actor shared, “My catharsis in this experience was different than other people’s, because of my history in this place. I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea.”
In order to say a proper goodbye to the show, Goggins decided to unfollow Aimee Lou Wood. He revealed that he had informed the actress of his decision. Goggins said, “I let her know, this is what I’ve gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.”
Finally putting an end to the feud rumors, Goggins concludes, “I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f— what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.”
