‘IKEA Taylor Swift Blanket’ Trends as Fans Misled Into Buying Fake Merch

A viral video showcasing Taylor Swift-themed blankets from IKEA sent fans into a frenzy, with many rushing to search for what they believed was official merch at the Swedish retailer. However, the creator revealed the Swift’s album-inspired blankets aren’t actually IKEA products.

Here’s why ‘IKEA Taylor Swift Blanket’ trend is going viral

Fans recently came across a video that seemingly teases IKEA’s “Taylor Swift” blankets featuring the singer’s album cover art as the main design. But the creator revealed that the Swift-inspired blankets are actually available at the fan’s storefront, as they aren’t IKEA products.

Among the available designs, the store contained Lover, 1989, The Tortured Poet’s Department, and Eras Tour-inspired themes. The blankets are currently priced at $49.99, with the original price being $99.99.

Fans who believed the Taylor Swift blankets to be original IKEA products were disappointed to find out that they are not available at the retail store. One fan commented on the Instagram video, “You gave me hope for a second.” Another echoed the same sentiment, writing, “I don’t like that kind of trolling people.”

Meanwhile, Swifties are currently celebrating the Grammy-winning legend’s recent achievement—T-Swizzle buying back all of her old masters from Shamrock Capital. An elated Swift revealed the grand milestone via a personal letter on her official website. The site also features merch from all of her previous albums.

The “Karma” crooner buying back all of her previous albums has also made an impact on music charts. Ever since Swift announced the update regarding Reputation (Taylor’s Version), fans jumped into streaming the original on various music platforms.

As per a Billboard report, Swift’s Reputation might see a major “rebound” in the current week and may rank quite high in the Billboard 200 chart in the upcoming days. The report claims that the album can rank within the top five spots if “fan enthusiasm” continues.

On another note, Swift’s debut album’s re-recording might get a future release. The singer teased in the aforementioned letter, “I really love how it (the re-recording) sounds now.” Tay Tay hinted that both Reputation and the debut project “can have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right.”
