Taylor Swift recently made a surprise post on Instagram and announced that she has bought the rights to all her albums. She shared a photo of herself surrounded by her first six albums, and wrote in the caption, “You belong with me. Letter on my site :)”

This image was shared by songwriting legend Carole King on her Instagram story, in which she referred to Swift and stated, “You continue to inspire!” King and Swift’s friendship isn’t a private affair, as fans have witnessed them lauding each other in public.

As per People, while speaking at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2021, Swift shared her admiration for King. She conveyed, “I was raised by two of her biggest fans, who taught me that Carole King is the greatest songwriter of all time.”

Furthermore, King has showered Swift’s songwriting talent while giving her an award at the 2016 AMAs. She said, “Over the years, I’ve known some great songwriters and I’ve also known some great singers and performers. It’s rare to see all those talents in one person, but that defines Taylor Swift.”

In a May 30 letter to her fans on her website, Swift expressed her joy after buying back her albums. She wrote, “All the times I was thiiiiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now. I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.”
