Taylor Swift & Blake Lively Haven’t Spoken Since Lawsuit Update — Rumor

Fans seem to be under the impression that Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, whose friendship has been well documented, are currently not on speaking terms. The alleged rift between the two celebrities apparently happened due to the legal battle between the This Ends with Us actress and Justin Baldoni.

There’s ‘radio silence’ between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively

The friendship between pop mega star Taylor Swift and actor and producer Blake Lively seems to have been impacted by the legal struggle between Lively and Baldoni. Although Swift no longer faces the possibility of being subpoenaed in the lawsuit, Us Weekly cited a source to claim that the relationship between her and Lively had “stalled.” The source reportedly said, “There’s been radio silence between Taylor and Blake since the subpoena was dropped.”

This source then proceeded to claim that the duo “won’t pick up where they left off because of all the emotional residue.”

Lively and Baldoni worked together on the 2024 romantic drama feature It Ends with Us. The former portrayed the protagonist, whereas the latter directed the feature and played one of the male leads. In December 2024, Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing Baldoni of sexual misconduct and creating a hostile work environment. That month, the New York Times (NYT) published an article in which it claimed that Baldoni had hired people to start a smear campaign targeting the Café Society actress.

In response, Baldoni filed a $250 million lawsuit against the NYT. Toward the end of the month, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, reiterating her allegations from the complaint. Baldoni then sued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloan for $400 million.

The lawsuit mentions Swift, which brought her into the middle of this legal struggle. Early in May 2025, Baldoni’s legal team subpoenaed the “Shake It Off” singer. However, Us Weekly reports, again citing a source, that the subpoena was dropped “because information was voluntarily provided” to Baldoni’s legal team.
