Shakira & Jason Aldean’s Boston Concerts Get Canceled

Shakira and singer Jason Aldean‘s concerts, which were to take place in Boston on May 29 and May 30, respectively, have been canceled. The venue, Fenway Park, shared the cancellation update just hours before the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was expected to take to the stage. This news led many fans to take to social media to express their disappointment. Furthermore, event promoter Live Nation also released a statement explaining why the concerts were canceled.

Reason why Shakira and Jason Aldean’s concerts canceled

Fenway Park in Boston recently took to social media to announce that Shakira and Jason Aldean’s concerts have been canceled.

In the statement on Instagram, the venue officials conveyed, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn performances originally scheduled for May 29th and May 30th, respectively, at Fenway Park have been canceled.”

They further shared that refunds will be processed, stating, “Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

After a spectacular show in Toronto on May 26, 2025, Shakira was all set to perform at Fenway Park in Boston. However, fans expecting to witness the singer live on May 29 were left disheartened after the concert cancellation. Additionally, shows of Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn, who were performing at the venue on May 30, were also canceled.

In a statement to USA Today, event promoter Live Nation shared that the shows were canceled due to structural issues at the venue. These issues came to light after routine checks were conducted at the venue. They asserted, “Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe.”

A fan commented on Fenway Park’s post and claimed, “The stage roof buckled when trying to mount one of the big screens. It literally happened within the last couple of hours.” The commenter revealed that they obtained the information from someone they know who works at the venue. (via People)

After the Boston show got canceled, Shakira will now perform in Washington, D.C., on May 31, as per her Instagram post.
