When Jason Isaacs signed on for Season 3 of The White Lotus, he didn’t know what to expect from his co-stars, especially Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is the son of action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver. But as filming progressed, Isaacs was in for a pleasant surprise. Here’s what Isaacs said about working with Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Jason Isaacs comment on Patrick Schwarzenegger
Jason Isaacs, who plays Patrick Schwarzenegger’s on-screen father in The White Lotus, shared how he wasn’t expecting him to be so grounded. “I didn’t expect Patrick to be nice because he’s the son of a famous movie star [Arnold Schwarzenegger],” Isaacs admitted during an episode of the Table Manners podcast. “And he’s such a fabulous, grounded person,” he added.
Jason Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff in the widely popular HBO series, explained that he developed a warm, almost parental relationship with his on-screen children, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola, and Sarah Catherine Hook. “[They] became like my kids, you know, by proxy,” he said, further stating, “I fell madly in love with them. We text each other all the time.”
Schwarzenegger’s character on the show, Saxon Ratliff, is depicted as being involved in his father’s company. Despite Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Hollywood lineage, he has earned praise for his professionalism and genuine personality. For him, landing a role in The White Lotus was a “dream come true.” In an interview with E! News in November 2024, he called the experience “surreal” and “life-changing.” “To work with Mike White and just to be part of this project was…incredible,” he said.
Previously, the 31-year-old has credited his father for sparking his love for acting. In a February interview with People, Schwarzenegger recalled visiting film sets as a child and being fascinated by the transformation his dad underwent for roles like Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin. “That’s where my first love for acting came from,” Patrick Schwarzenegger shared. “I would sit there all day and just be fascinated with everything about film,” he explained.
