Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter ditched the plans of a grand wedding and got married at a small church. The Oscar-nominated artist shared about his son’s wedding at a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Murphy disclosed that Eddie and Jasmin Lawrence tied the knot “two weeks ago.” The SNL star gushed, “They went off, everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”

The comedian further quipped that he doesn’t have to pay for a big wedding anymore. However, the duo might host a “big party” to celebrate their union. Murphy noted, “They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing. So I think we’ll have a big party or something.”

Jennifer Hudson inquired if Murphy has plans of singing at his son’s “future wedding” celebration. The Golden Child star denied the possibility. “No, I ain’t singing … Martin will sing at the wedding. Yeah, that’d be funny.” He added that he is probably interested in singing “a duet.”

Meanwhile, Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence have been dating since 2021. Eric’s now-wife publicly professed love for her beau with an Instagram post on his birthday. She wrote, “Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!”

Before that, Eric had also posted a loving caption for his girlfriend on IG. He shared a selfie of them, writing, “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU” in June 2021. After three years of being together, the celebrity pair made their red carpet debut for Eddie’s film, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, in Los Angeles.
