Rosamund Pike recalls mugging incident in London
Rosamund Pike, best known for Gone Girl, recently opened up about a frightening experience she had while walking through London. She was speaking with her mother on the phone when a young man on a bicycle suddenly rode up and “punched” her in the face before grabbing her phone and speeding off.
The actress recalled the unsettling moment during an interview on Magic Radio, describing how a normal stroll quickly turned into something traumatic. Pike said she was simply walking and talking when the attack took place. The actress said, “The phone was snatched so all she heard was me scream and a thud and the phone went dead.” The abrupt end to the call left her mother fearing that something terrible had happened.
Pike emphasized that the attacker physically hit her on the side of her face during the robbery, leaving her injured. She said the mugger was just a kid on a bicycle who came out of nowhere and vanished just as quickly.
After regaining her composure, Pike went to a pub nearby, where she asked to borrow a phone. From there, she called her mother back to let her know she was safe. She said, “I walked to the pub and called [my mom] when I got there and met my friends. But for her, it was probably a pretty horrible 15 minutes.”
