Mike Myers made an appearance on the SNL Season 50 finale and took part in a skit that referenced a now-infamous TV segment from 2005 featuring Kanye West. This was Myers’s fourth guest appearance this season. During an elevator ride, he finds himself alone with “Kanye West.” However, the rapper didn’t appear in the episode and was portrayed by SNL veteran Kenan Thompson.
So, here’s everything to know about Myers’ latest SNL sketch and how it involved the “CARNIVAL” singer.
Mike Myers’ SNL sketch included ‘Kanye West’
The Shrek actor, himself an SNL alum, appeared on the Saturday Night Live Season 50 finale as a guest. In the skit, as Mike Myers took the elevator in what appeared to be the 30 Rockefeller Plaza, he encountered Marcello Hernandez and the episode’s host, Scarlett Johansson, who portrayed a character named Janice.
Both appeared to be overjoyed seeing Myers and voiced their admiration for him. After Hernandez exited the elevator, SNL regular Kenan Thompson entered as Kanye West, prompting Janice to exit as well, despite Myers’ protests. What followed was a hilarious interaction that harked back to how things unfolded two decades ago.

Meanwhile, in the 2025 skit, after Janice’s departure, Thompson’s West recognized Myers and recalled what happened. He added, “And you just had to stand there looking stupid.” When Mike Myers awkwardly asked the other man what he was doing now, the fake rapper declared that he was “in the KKK.”
The segment then proceeded to make allusions to children’s safety concerns in the entertainment industry and the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial. Moreover, when Thompson’s West asked how Myers’ children were faring, the latter quickly replied that they were safe.
At one point, the elevators stopped, and the door opened. However, those outside saw the occupants and decided to take the next one. In the SNL skit, “Kanye West” even asked if Mike Myers’ surname had Jewish history. However, the Inglourious Basterds actor stated that he was Protestant.
When the elevator briefly stopped moving due to Myers’ actions, he started to panic. The actor then suggested to Kenan Thompson’s West that they try jumping up and down to get the elevator moving again. The latter refused, claiming that he didn’t “like doing crazy stuff.” In the final moments of the skit, Myers told “Kanye West” to take care and exited the elevator.
