Shia LaBeouf recently made headlines by posting a private email conversation with Timothée Chalamet. LaBeouf addressed the rumors of a rift with Chalamet on social media. This comes days after his remarks about Chalamet’s SAG Awards speech sparked speculation online.
Shia LaBeouf shares private emails from Timothee Chalamet
Shia LaBeouf took to social media on May 12 to share a glimpse into his off-screen relationship with Timothée Chalamet. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the actor revealed a series of emails between the two from October 2023. Along with the email thread, LaBeouf quoted Rudyard Kipling’s If. He wrote, “If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken, twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.” LaBeouf added, “Timothée Chalamet is doing better work than anyone alive – we been good.”
According to the email, Chalamet had reached out after attending LaBeouf’s performance in the stage play Henry Johnson. He described the show as “totally electric” and called LaBeouf the “king of your kingdom even if that kingdom is a miserable 4×4 prison cell.” Chalamet expressed hope that the production would head to New York. Chalamet concluded, “And I hope this is the beginning of your work on stage and not an anomaly!!”
LaBeouf responded with a brief but warm reply. He wrote, “Thank you doggy. Every blessing to you. Fun watching you evolve. Take ownership. Bang bang.”
Just days earlier, LaBeouf commented on Chalamet’s 2025 SAG Awards speech during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. LaBeouf noted, “Then I hear Timothée Chalamet get up and he says something like, ‘I want to be great.’” He added. “I so know the feeling. On him, it’s cute. On me, it wasn’t cute.”
LaBeouf’s post comes amid ongoing legal issues with ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs, who accused him of abuse in 2020. He has denied the allegations, and the trial is expected to take place later in 2025.
