The Vampire Diaries universe has given us another real-life romance as the franchise’s alums Candice King and Steven Krueger announce their engagement. King is best recognized for her portrayal of Caroline Forbes in The CW’s popular supernatural drama, The Vampire Diaries. Krueger, her fiancé, appeared in the spin-off series, The Originals, where he played the character Josh Rosza.

Candice King announces engagement with Steven Krueger
Candice King took to her Instagram on May 14 to announce her engagement to Steven Krueger.
The Vampire Diaries alum shared a carousel of photos sharing the frame with her soon-to-husband, with the caption announcing that Krueger popped the question a “couple of weeks ago.”
The images feature King and Krueger in intimate poses holding a drink at their “fave” cocktail bar in Nashville called Martha My Dear. The pair looks radiant in the snaps, with Kreuger donning a dapper black suit and King flaunting her engagement diamond in a white mini-satin dress. King gave a shout-out to photographer Catherine Powell for clicking the stunning photos of the pair. In the caption she penned, “I think 38 just might be my favorite year yet.”
“A couple of weeks ago @stevenakrueger gave me the best gift of all when he asked me to marry him. The privilege of getting older is much sweeter knowing I get to share it with you Steven. Thank you for asking me to dance through life with you,” shared King.
Actors from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals filled the comment section with joyful congratulatory messages. Nina Dobrev, Michael Trevino, Danielle Campbell, and other stars sent their best wishes to the couple.
The engagement announcement comes almost two years after King and Kreuger went Instagram official on December 27, 2023. She shared a video montage of her 2023 recap which also included a clip of her kissing Krueger.
