Scarlett Johansson recently spoke about her experience with Wayfarer Studios, the company co-founded by Justin Baldoni. Scarlett Johansson praises Justin Baldoni’s studio
Scarlett Johansson shared her thoughts on working with Wayfarer Studios, the company Justin Baldoni co-founded. This comes amid Baldoni’s ongoing legal dispute with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Johansson’s directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, was produced by Wayfarer in collaboration with Sony Pictures Classics.
Talking about Baldoni’s studio, Johansson told Vanity Fair, “They were super supportive throughout the process.” The actress also clarified that she did not get a chance to meet Baldoni during production, as he was busy with It Ends With Us. She concluded with, “Yeah, such weird timing.” Eleanor the Great is scheduled for release later this year.
Johansson’s comments follow increasing attention on the drama involving Baldoni and Lively. Both of them worked in It Ends With Us as co-stars. After filming wrapped, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment. He responded by denying the allegations and filing a $400 million defamation lawsuit against both Lively and Reynolds, whom Johansson was married to from 2008 to 2011. Lively and Reynolds have filed a motion to dismiss the case.
Meanwhile, Wayfarer Studios also made headlines recently by announcing the closure of its charitable wing, the Wayfarer Foundation. In an Instagram post, producing partner Steve Sarowitz wrote, “Upon unanimous decision of the board of directors, today we will begin the process of sunsetting the Foundation.” They will fulfill all remaining commitments over the next few weeks. Sarowitz concluded, “Although the Wayfarer Foundation is closing, my personal commitment to giving remains strong, and I’m dedicated to making an impact on society through the ongoing mission and work.”
