Taylor Swift Reaction to Being Subpoenaed in Blake Lively Case Explained

Taylor Swift has seemingly been dragged into the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. After reports surfaced that she had been subpoenaed in connection with the case, Swift’s spokesperson issued a strong statement clarifying her role. Now, many fans are curious about Swift’s reaction.

Taylor Swift’s spokesperson has made it clear that the pop star wants no involvement in Blake Lively’s legal case. This response comes following the reports that Swift had been subpoenaed in connection with Baldoni’s countersuit against Lively.

In a statement shared with E! News on May 9, a representative for Swift stated, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film.” The rep added that Swift hadn’t even watched the film until weeks after it was released to the public. This was due to her touring schedule throughout 2023 and 2024.

The spokesperson clarified that Swift’s only connection to the film was granting the use of one song, “My Tears Ricochet.” They also pointed out that 19 other artists had licensed songs for the same project. The rep added, “This document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

Previously, Blake Lively’s lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, strongly criticized Baldoni’s legal team for dragging celebrities like Swift into the lawsuit. In an interview with People, Gottlieb said, “It’s completely unclear what claims or defenses, in the case any of these celebrities… have any relevance to at all.” He argued that dragging famous names into the lawsuit was nothing more than a publicity stunt. Gottlieb also warned that it will turn the case into a media circus.
