Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco enjoyed a cozy night with friends and family while skipping the 2025 Met Gala. Gomez hosted her brand, Rare Beauty’s 4th Annual Mental Health Summit, in Los Angeles a day before the Met Gala.
Before the Rare Beauty event, Gomez spent a night out with her close family and friends and shared a carousel on Instagram. The former Disney star captioned the post, “Supper club. Engagements, childhood food and Dave, sorry I didn’t try your pasta?”
Amid promoting their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, it seems like the couple is prioritizing spending time with close ones. However, Gomez had previously shared that she had some trouble during her 2018 Met Gala appearance.
During her last Met appearance in 2018, Gomez apparently left abruptly due to an embarrassing situation. The singer explained the incident to Glamour UK when she was asked about her “most memorable beauty disaster.”
She recalled, “While I was getting ready for the Met Gala a few years ago, we put on a bit of tanning lotion, and it looked beautiful, but as the night went on, it kept getting darker and darker. When I sat down [inside the event], I saw a photo of myself, and it looked completely orange. And here I am at this prestigious event. My first thought was, ‘I have to get out of here!’”
Gomez had also shared an Instagram post about the Met Gala “disaster.” She shared a clip of her running away from a parking lot and captioned it, “Me when I saw my pictures from MET.”
Meanwhile, Gomez and Blanco’s relationship came under scrutiny after unsubstantiated rumors claimed Blanco had cheated on Gomez. Fans also took to social media to theorize whether Gomez unfollowed her friend Theresa Marie over the incident.
