BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s Met Gala 2025 Look Sparks Controversy

The White Lotus Season 3 star BLACKPINK’s Lisa wore a glittering black blazer and Louis Vuitton undies for her 2025 Met Gala look. The Thai superstar’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” outfit drew controversy as fans speculated if Lisa’s underwear featured several portraits, including that of Rosa Parks.

Thankfully, the luxury brand provided an explanation behind Henry Taylor’s unique new work.

Did Lisa have Rosa Parks’ face on her underwear?

Contrary to popular belief, it does not seem like Rosa Parks was featured on BLACKPINK Lisa‘s 2025 Met Gala outfit. The unique embroidery that drew controversy was designed by Henry Taylor.

The artist has previously worked on a similar design for Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 show. Pharrell Williams, the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear and 2025 Met Gala co-chair, commissioned the look.

As per the brand’s official statement, the portraits in Henry Taylor’s embroidery represent the “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life.” The brand did not mention if the portraits represent any real-life figures or celebrities (via People).

Meanwhile, K-pop fans have long hailed Lisa as a “fashion icon” for her edgy outfits and daring looks, even before her Met Gala debut. In an interview with Vogue, the “Money” crooner gushed over how fashion is a part of her artistic identity.

The HBO actress noted, “Fashion and I are inseparable.” She added, “It’s important to me because fashion, along with music, is my way of expressing myself. I get inspired by the various styles, and I’ve learned to be confident [in my choices]. And also, it’s just fun!”

Lisa’s iconic fashion sense has also helped her bag multiple brand ambassadorships over the years. The singer became the global brand ambassador for the Celine Haute Parfumerie collection a few years back. Later, the rapper also became the face of Bulgari in 2020.

For Bulgari, Lisa starred in multiple campaigns, including the “Serpenti,” “Bzero One,” and “Unexpected Wonders” collections. A few months after her Bulgari partnership, Lisa became the first K-pop artist to be the face of MAC Cosmetics. The “Rockstar” singer unveiled her first collaboration with the makeup brand in November 2020.”Rockstar” singer unveiled her first collaboration with the makeup brand in November 2020.
