George Clooney recently sat down for a CBS interview with Gayle King, where he discussed his Broadway debut as CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow in the historical drama play, Good Night, and Good Luck. During the discussion, the actor was asked about his marriage and relationship with his wife Amal.
Clooney reminded King about how he told the latter that he and his wife have never had an argument in a 2022 CBS Mornings appearance. “We’re trying to find something to fight about,” the 63 year-old actor added.
The Ocean’s Eleven star then mentioned how he “started late” with Amal, whom he tied the knot with in 2014. King then reminded Clooney about how he once said he wouldn’t marry and have kids, which the latter acknowledged. “What happened to me?,” Clooney jokingly pondered.
The actor then remarked how he was “extraordinarily lucky” to have met Amal, whom he called an “incredible woman.” He then shared that he “hit the jackpot,” noting that a day didn’t go by where he thought he was “the luckiest man in the world.”
Clooney also opened up about his and Amal’s twin children Ella and Alexander, sharing that they are “about to be 8,” which he called “a pretty great age.” He further described them as “curious” and “funny.”
“Every parent thinks their kids are great — our kids are funny and make us laugh,” he added. In a previous interview with E! News in 2022, Clooney noted that he and Amal agreed “on most things.” The two-time Academy Award winner cited his age as a reason for this. “As you get older, you’re kind of looking at things a little differently,” he added.
