Fans online recently noticed that The Last of Us star’s official account was reportedly deleted from Instagram. Upon searching Ramsey’s account on the application, users are getting the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”
The actor has not yet commented on the move and has not revealed any reason behind deleting their account. However, some fans on a Reddit thread went on to deduce a possible reason. Many reached the assumption that Ramsey might’ve taken the step because of the constant trolling and criticism.
One user suggested that Ramsey took the step because of the hate they received for playing Ellie in Season 2 of The Last of Us. Before the release of the sophomore installment, they got criticized for not looking age-appropriate for the character of Ellie.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s co-creator Craig Mazin also commented on the criticism. Supporting Ramsey, he said, “I understand the difficulty that some people have where they say, ‘She looked like she was 14 in season one. She still looks roughly the same to us, even though now she’s 19.” Ellie in the game looks much older. I’m not interested in the physical aspect — although I’ve been looking at Bella’s face for years while editing, and I can see that she’s certainly grown.”
Meanwhile, another user suggested that Ramsey might’ve taken the step because of their alleged breakup with actress Maisy Stella. In the Instagram story she shared for Ramsey’s birthday in September 2024, they were seen kissing Stella on her cheek.
