Actress Aimee Lou Wood, who portrays Chelsea in Season 3 of HBO’s black comedy drama series The White Lotus, has revealed she has received a bouquet of roses and carnations from SNL star Sarah Sherman. This comes amid the controversy surrounding Sherman’s portrayal of Aimee Lou Wood’s White Lotus character in an SNL sketch.

Aimee Lou Wood recently took to Instagram Stories to share a photo of a stunning bouquet made of orange roses and pink carnations. She attached a note with the bouquet reading, “Thank you for the beautiful flowers,” and tagged Sherman.
The April 12th episode of Saturday Night Live Season 50 featured a sketch titled The White Potus, creating a pun out of the title of The White Lotus and the acronym for the President of the United States. Although the sketch was heavily focused on current US President Donald Trump and his administration, a parody of Aimee Lou Wood’s character appeared. Sherman appeared in the sketch as Aimee Lou Wood’s character, wearing prosthetic teeth.
Afterward, Wood criticized the sketch on Instagram, stating the depiction was “mean and unfunny.” “Take the p— for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?” she noted.
Wood later elaborated on her previous comments about the SNL sketch in another post on her Instagram Stories. She asserted that her reaction was not the result of her being “thin skinned,” adding, “I actually love being taken the p— out of when it’s clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth. I don’t mind caricature – I understand that’s what ‘SNL’ is.
