Here’s everything to know about Swift and Abrams’ friendship.
Are Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams friends?
Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams’ initial interactions date back to 2021 when the “Lover” hitmaker reached out to Abrams through text. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2023, Abrams recalled how Swift “texted me out of the blue like two Christmases ago” to invite her for her birthday.
In November 2022, Swift announced her Eras Tour through an Instagram post and included Abrams as one of her opening acts. During an interaction with the Recording Academy in February 2023, Abrams referred to Swift as “an immediate best friend and also a superhero” before she opened the Eras tour in April of that year. Swift also described Abrams as “one of my favorite friends” onstage in July 2023, and then they performed the latter’s song, “Miss You, I’m Sorry.”
Abrams remained a constant companion for Swift on her Eras Tour, and they were also snapped while hanging out in NYC in November 2023 (via Cosmopolitan). The “That’s So True” singer spoke to Variety in December 2023, describing the Eras tour as “the best experience of my life.”
In June 2024, Abrams dropped her song “Us,” which featured Swift. Their song also received a Grammy nomination, which they celebrated with a mix of “Us” and “Out of the Woods” in November 2024. Abrams performed her last opening act for Swift on the last day of the pop icon’s Eras tour in December 2024.
