Ryan Reynolds Faces Backlash Over Daughter’s ‘Disgusting’ Deadpool Lines

Ryan Reynolds is facing the wrath of fans after revealing that his young daughter, Inez, portrayed Kidpool in Deadpool & Wolverine. Some fans have commented that Inez’s lines were quite inappropriate for a child actor. During a recent conversation with director Shawn Levy, Reynolds talked about the controversial scene. He admitted that, initially, his daughter was not ready to say the lines.

Ryan Reynolds slammed for forcing daughter to say disgusting dialogues

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds disclosed that his daughter, Inez, didn’t really want to say the lines in the famous Kidpool scene. In a commentary track of the film, Reynolds and Levy discussed the behind-the-scenes details of the production.

When the Kidpool scene played, Reynolds confessed, “Guiltily, that is my daughter Inez. And, I am father of the year over here for allowing her to say such language, which, to her credit, she really didn’t want to say. Then she said, ‘I want to say it now’ when I started looking at other people to play.” (Via Daily Mail)

For context, in the much-talked-about Kidpool scene, Inez says, “Hey, when I want your opinion, I’ll take Wolverine’s d— out of your mouth.” While discussing the particular scene, Levy revealed, the seven-year-old had to try “70 to 500 versions of that line.”

The confession from Reynolds did not sit well with some of the fans. One fan commented on YouTube, “How is it okay to have your daughter or any child say this line? Was this in the final cut? I saw the movie but was not paying enough attention at this point.”

Another user said, “I thought it was very crude in the movie having those words come out of a little kid, and now, knowing that was his OWN child, he put that kind of pressure on her or he would find another child actor to say it for the scene. That is so disturbing, and I can’t believe Disney approved something like that for a seven-year-old girl.”

In other news, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will not be attending the Met Gala 2025 amid the ongoing lawsuit drama with Justin Baldoni. An exclusive source told People, “Blake and Ryan haven’t gone since 2022, when they were co-chairs, and they will not be in attendance this year.”
