Movie fans react to Rachel Zegler’s Snow White ‘wig’
Some fans have posted online that they are upset with Rachel Zegler’s hairstyle in Snow White and have compared it to a wig as they dislike its appearance.
On Reddit, one user started a thread where they claimed that Snow White’s hairstyle resembled that of Maya Erskine’s Maya Ishii-Peters from Pen15. Here, the user jokingly claimed that Snow White’s hair was cut by Ishii-Peters’ mother from the show.
Several other users replied in the thread, adding comparisons to other fictional characters’ hairstyles. These included Javier Bardem’s Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men and Shrek’s Lord Farquaad. Meanwhile, one user compared it to a haircut that actress and model Saleisha Stowers once had, while another noted the Snow White hairstyle’s resemblance to the hairstyle sported by Randy Constan, a Peter Pan impersonator.
Other users simply resorted to criticizing the hairstyle without comparisons.
“I get that that was the hairstyle when the OG Snow White animated came out but like wouldn’t she have long hair as a princess couldn’t she just have a big beautiful mane,” one user added.
However, one fan took to Threads to defend Rachel Zegler’s Snow White hairtsyle. Here, the fan mentioned that people did not know that was her real hair. They also noted that the actress had it cut during filming.
“It’s adorable on her when she or her personal stylist handled it,” the user added. “This proves how bad the Disney hairdresser on Snow White messed up the styling.”
Some fans also pointed out the in-universe reason behind the hairstyle in the movie as the Evil Queen, played by Gal Gadot, has Snow White’s hair cut to diminish the character’s beauty.
