Dua Lipa and Troye Sivan had their fans swooning over them after their latest TikTok video became a sensation online. The two singers’ friendship is approximately almost a decade old and has been constantly growing over the years, making many curious to learn more.

So, here is all the information regarding the duo’s friendship history, which fans need to know.

Are Dua Lipa and Troye Sivan friends?

Dua Lipa recently performed in Melbourne for the Australian leg of her Radical Optimism tour. However, what surprised the fans was her friend Troye Sivan’s presence on stage on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This surprise collaboration showcased their strong bond in front of their fans.

While inviting Sivan on stage to perform his song “Rush,” Lipa said, “This next song in the set is different every night. So tonight, I thought it would be a big mistake if I didn’t play one of my favorite, favorite artists ever who’s also a friend of mine.”

In 2023, Sivan was a guest on Lipa’s At Your Service podcast, where they discussed the release of his album, Rush. They also revealed that their first meeting dates back to 2016, when he invited her as the opening act for his tour, Suburbia. Hence, the “Levitating” singer often attributes the launch of her singing career to Sivan. Since then, the duo’s friendship has only grown over the years.

“Troye and I have known each other since he invited me to open his Suburbia Tour in America in late 2016. On the road, we became proper, real-life friends. And ever since, we’ve always found the time to connect whenever we’re in the same city,” said Lipa.

Despite being mostly private about their friendship, the two pals recently posted a TikTok video, teasing their collab, “Physical (Remix).” The video went viral on the platform, thus, giving fans a glimpse at their close bond.

Lipa has also been one of the biggest cheerleaders for the “Angel Baby” singer. In 2018, he was featured in Billboard’s first Pride issue. In it, she referred to Troye Sivan as a “smart wordsmith.” Dua Lipa also stated, “He’s very honest at the same time. That’s why people love his music. He says things that people want to say but can’t find the words to say them.”
