Week 9 Start or Sit
-
Jake Locker QB - Tennessee
Locker threw for over 300 yards against a tough Niners defense and now he gets the Rams on a short week. In my league, Locker is projected to score more than 20 fantasy points, which puts him ahead of guys like Tom Brady and Andrew Luck. If you need a bye-week fill, Locker is your guy.
START
-
Jordan Reed TE - Washington
I'm shocked I need to point this out, but based upon the fact that Reed is only being started in about half of fantasy leagues it needs to be done. Reed has been one of the most consistent tight ends in fantasy and a safety valve for RGIII. The 'Skins face the Chargers this week, who have guarded the tight end fairly well, but I still expect Reed to get his looks. He's a lock for at least 5-6 points every week, which is better than what you can say about most tight ends.
START
-
Justin Blackmon WR - Jacksonville
Another guy I hate to bring into the fold, but there is always that guy who sets his roster on Tuesday and doesn't look at it again until Sunday afternoon; if you're that guy you'll score a big fat zero with Blackmon this week. The kid was suspended indefinitely Friday due to a drug issue and won't return until possibly 2014. If you want a replacement you should consider Mike Brown, who will now step in as the Jags No. 2 WR.
SIT
-
Marques Colston WR - New Orleans
Watch Colston go off this week after I finally put him on my 'sit' list, but that's okay. Marques, trust me, I'm rooting for ya. But Brees just isn't finding you...Or you're injured and not telling anyone... Only start Colston unless you are absolutely desperate for a WR. Not only did Colston barely practice this week and is questionable for Sunday's game due to a micro fracture (most likely), he's only produce three fantasy points combined over the last three weeks.
SIT
-
Ryan Mathews RB - San Diego
Only about half of leagues are starting Mathews right now, most likely because of his slow start to the season and Danny Woodhead getting a lot of looks. However if you look at the numbers, Mathews has rushed for over 100 yards two games in a row and has received the ball more than double the amount of Woodhead. The Chargers still believe in Mathews and so should you. At the very least he's a solid flex.
