Week 9 Pickups
-
Delanie Walker TE - Tennessee (4% owned)
Let's kick this article off by going deep. A tight end that could very well help your fantasy team this week if your starter is on a bye is Walker. He's found the endzone the last two games with Jake Locker under center. I also don't expect the Rams to be overwhelming with their pass defense. In a deep league I would feel comfortable using Walker this week as a solid sub. He's predicted to score a toucdown worth of points this week in standard Yahoo leagues.
-
Dexter McCluster WR - Kansas City (5% owned)
Sure, it was against Cleveland, but McCluster had seven catches for 67 yards and TD against them Sunday. While he's more valuable in a PPR league, he still possesses fair value going-forward considering Alex Smith checks down often and can't seem to find Dwayne Bowe. McCluster also leads the team in receiving the last two weeks. Use him as a solid WR3 this week against Buffalo.
-
Marvin Jones WR - Cincinnatti (25% owned)
Has there been a hotter pickup yet this season? Jones has officially arrived after breaking the Bengals' all-time record for most receiving touchdowns in a game (4). And oh ya, he only played on 33 percent of the team's snaps. Some are doubting the legitimacy of Jones considering Sanu is sure to remain the team's No. 2 guy on most downs and Andrew Hawkins will soon return from IR. However if Jones is available in my league I'm picking him up in a heart beat and starting him as a WR3 against the Dolphins Thursday night. After such an incredible performance can the Bengals really keep him on the bench three-quarters of the game? I don't think so.
-
Scott Chandler TE - Buffalo (17% owned)
I've admittedly been hot and cold with Chandler all season. Now that the quarterback play continues to be as shaky as ever with E.J. Manuel still sidelined, I would feel comfortable giving Chandler a go if my starting TE has a bye this week. Not only are the Chiefs decent defensively but I don't trust Thad Lewis to chuck it down the field. Chandler will likely get a lot of looks.
-
Terrelle Pryor QB - Oakland (36% owned)
I wasn't a believer in Pryor until this past Sunday when the guy went off on the Steelers, opening the game on a 93-yard touchdown (a new NFL record for longest rush by a QB). He had 17 points against Pittsburgh, meaning he's scored 16 or more points in every game this season except for week 2 -- when ironically enough -- he only had 10 against an atrocious Jacksonville team. Pryor is a border-line starter in deep leagues and possibly the best sub you can have at the quarterback position for the rest of the season. He needs to be owned in all leagues.
