Ali Barter Debuts New Single ‘Community’

Indie pop singer-songwriter Ali Barter has released the video to single ‘Community’ from her second EP of the same title.

The ‘Community’ clip, released today in a Music Feeds exclusive, features the Melbourne native and her guitar rolling about Sydney’s Kings Cross, celebrating a Saturday night on the notorious strip with a bunch of nocturnal regulars.

Produced by Ford Sarhan and the ARIA-nominated Charlie Ford (for Courtney Barnett’s’ Avant Gardener’ video), the ‘Community’ video “is a surrender to everything that we use and abuse to feel a part of the world”, according to Ali. The single was first written back in 2012 and later brought to life by producers Matt Redlich and Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy).

“I try to be honest, and I think Community is the most accurate appraisal of me,” Barter says of the EP. “Of my extremes, of human extremes, of shit you shouldn’t say out loud. It’s about there never being enough.”

Having already spent the past 12 months touring with the likes of The Rubens and Cloud Control, Barter is currently in the midst of a national tour with Melbourne folk band Husky. Check out her remaining dates across November and December at the official Ali Barter Facebook page
