Sydney Sweeney’s Next Movie Gets Major Cast & Release Date Updates

The cast of The Custom of the Country continues to expand as several new actors join the upcoming film starring Sydney Sweeney. Among the latest additions is Rose Leslie of Game of Thrones fame, along with multiple other performers. The casting update comes as production on the adaptation moves forward.

Rose Leslie and more join The Custom of the Country

The upcoming adaptation of The Custom of the Country continues to expand its cast. Most recently, several actors joined the project led by Sydney Sweeney. 

According to Deadline, new cast members include Rose Leslie, Matthew Goode, Louis Garrel, Martha Plimpton, Irene Jacob, Hugh Dancy, Ian Hart, James McArdle, Rosie Sheehy, Louisa Harland, Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́, Dominic West and Miranda Richardson. They will appear alongside Leo Woodall in the film, which is being developed by Studiocanal and Rabbit’s Foot Films.

The project is based on the novel by Edith Wharton. It will be directed by Josie Rourke, who also wrote the screenplay. The story follows Undine Spragg, played by Sweeney, an ambitious young woman from the American Midwest who moves to New York in search of wealth and a higher social position. As she enters elite social circles, Undine finds herself navigating rigid social order and personal ambitions.

The production brings together several companies behind the scenes. Sweeney is also attached as a producer alongside LD Entertainment, Charles Finch, and Alison Owen of Monumental Pictures.

Studiocanal is financing the film and plans to release it theatrically across its territories. This includes the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Poland and the Benelux region.

The Custom of the Country is currently in production

Production is currently underway. As the film remains in production, it is expected to premiere sometime next year at the earliest. However, an official release date has not yet been announced.
