Kevin Costner’s Underrated Sports Movie To Stream on Peacock

One of Kevin Costner‘s most underrated sports movies will soon begin streaming on Peacock. Draft Day, released in 2014, is a football drama starring Costner as Sonny Weaver Jr., the general manager of the Cleveland Browns. The iconic actor’s other notable sports movies include Chasing Dreams, American Flyers, Bull Durham, and many more.

Draft Day streams on Peacock in March

Draft Day will start streaming on Peacock on March 31, 2026 (via ComicBook.com). Some of the other movies releasing on the streaming platform that day are Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained, Robin Hood, and Silver Linings Playbook.

Ivan Reitman directed Draft Day from a script by Rajiv Joseph and Scott Rothman. Besides Costner, the cast also includes Jennifer Garner as Ali Parker, Denis Leary as Coach Vince Penn, Sam Elliott as Coach Moore, Kevin Dunn as Marvin, Chadwick Boseman as Vontae Mack, Tom Welling as Brian Drew, Rosanna Arquette as Angie, Frank Langella as Anthony Molina, Terry Crews as Earl Jennings, Chi McBride as Walt Gordon, and Wade Williams as O’Reilly.

Draft Day became Reitman’s final feature before he died in 2022. Previously, he had helmed movies like Meatballs, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Kindergarten Cop, and more.

Draft Day made over $29 million at the global box office. It currently has a 60% rating on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes after 159 reviews. Dan Mecca of The Film Stage observed, “This is a very American film that – not unlike Moneyball – attempts to expand its appeal by doubling down on its focus on the very American sport at hand so as to find the universal themes intrinsic to the game.”
