After a week off during the Winter Olympics, Jimmy Kimmel returned to his show with a monologue to react to the whirlwind news cycle surrounding President Donald Trump. The pointed jokes referenced everything from tariffs to the Epstein files.

During the February 23 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian zeroed in on Donald Trump’s recent flurry of activities, using it to question what might allegedly be hiding beneath the headlines.
Kimmel opened his monologue by comparing the past week’s news cycle to watching his house on a Ring camera while on vacation, except an alligator walked in. “I can’t stop watching the news. And Trump does so much stuff,” he told the audience. “We were gone for a week. One week. He is now at war with the Supreme Court. He’s threatening a real war with Iran. He’s firing off tariffs—10 percent, 15 percent.”
The host also pointed to Trump’s threats against talk shows and Netflix, along with sudden plans to release UFO files. That last detail got Kimmel’s sharpest observation. “It really makes you stop and wonder what the hell could be in those three million Trump Epstein files,” he said. “What? He is working so hard to distract us from. The only thing he hasn’t done is set his n—les on fire.”
Kimmel’s comment directly challenged the president’s repeated claims of being cleared in the Epstein case. Just days earlier, on February 19, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he had been “totally exonerated.”
When asked whether American associates of Jeffrey Epstein could face charges, Trump responded, “I’m the expert in a way because I’ve been totally exonerated. That’s very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely.”
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing. On February 16, he again told reporters, “I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.” Reports have long noted that Trump and Epstein moved in similar social circles during the 1990s and early 2000s, though Trump says he ended contact years before Epstein’s arrest.
