Elizabeth Olsen’s New Family Drama Gets Series Order at Hulu

FX‘s Seven Sisters, which will be headlined by Marvel star Elizabeth Olsen, has received a series order at Hulu. This news comes nine months after FX gave a pilot order for the drama. Will Arbery wrote the pilot while Sean Durkin directed it. Notably, Olsen and Durkin previously worked together on the former’s debut film, Martha Marcy May Marlene, released in 2011.

FX’s Seven Sisters receives series order at Hulu

FX’s Seven Sisters, starring Elizabeth Olsen and produced by FX Productions, has received a series order at Hulu. Previously, a pilot for the series had been ordered in March 2025. Hulu will stream the drama in the United States, while Disney+ will stream it in international markets.

Seven Sisters comes from writer Will Arbery, director Sean Durkin, and producer Garrett Basch, all of whom serve as executive producers. Besides Olsen, the project also stars Cristin Milioti, who won a Primetime Emmy Award earlier this year for her performance in The Penguin, and Murdaugh: Death in the Family’s J. Smith-Cameron. Supporting cast members include Odessa Young, Meredith Hagner, Anthony Edwards, Zoë Winters, Bridget Brown, Carolyn Kettig, Ryan Eggold, and Philip Ettinger.

The narrative follows a large, tight-knit family as they are forced to confront long-hidden secrets when one of the sisters, Adrienne (Olsen), begins communicating with a voice that only she can hear.

Milioti, Young, Hagner, Winters, Brown, and Kettig play Adrienne’s sisters, while Ettinger plays the sisters’ brother. Meanwhile, Eggold plays Adrienne’s husband while Edwards and Smith-Cameron essay the eight siblings’ parents (via Deadline).

Seven Sisters will be Basch’s fifth series for FX, with whom his company Dive has a first-look deal. He previously produced Devs, Reservation Dogs, What We Do in the Shadows, and The Lowdown for the network. In addition, Basch is executive-producing FX’s comedy pilot, Very Young Frankenstein.

The series currently has no official release date or window.
