Now You See Me 3 Box Office Prediction Hints It Won’t Top Last 2 Movies

Early projections indicate that Now You See Me 3 may record the lowest opening among the three films in the franchise. The upcoming Lionsgate release is expected to face a slower start at the box office compared to earlier films. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film has already generated significant buzz.

Now You See Me 3 box office may be lower than Part 2

Lionsgate’s upcoming movie, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is expected to open with moderate box office numbers.

Deadline‘s early estimates place domestic debut of the film between the “high teens and low $20 million range.” The third installment is expected to open with figures similar to those of Now You See Me 2, which earned over $22 million in its opening weekend in 2016. However, surpassing the $29 million debut of the original film, Now You See Me, seems unlikely (via Box Office Mojo).

The film will open in 3,300 North American theaters and across 64 international territories, as per Variety. With a production budget of around $90 million, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t continues the story of the Four Horsemen.

The first two films performed well internationally, with Now You See Me 2 earning $334.8 million worldwide, including $97 million from China. However, analysts expect lower returns this time because Hollywood films have been struggling in China post-pandemic.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t brings back Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Morgan Freeman. The franchise also welcomes newcomers Rosamund Pike, Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa. The story follows the Four Horsemen as they join hands with a new team of illusionists for a daring diamond heist.

Despite mixed reviews for earlier films, the Now You See Me franchise has built loyal following over the years. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t hits U.S. theaters on November 14, 2025.
