The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Sequel To Get a Trailer Very Soon

An industry insider has teased a major update on Nintendo and Illumination’s upcoming Super Mario sequel. The source hinted that fans will soon get their first look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, offering an early glimpse at the next chapter in the animated franchise.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer to get a November release date

Insider account @MyTimeToShineHello posted on X (formerly Twitter), “The Mario Galaxy trailer is ready and will release THIS MONTH!” In a follow-up post, they added, “The Mario Galaxy trailer will be attached to Wicked For Good, meaning it will release online before November 21st!” The scoop included two promotional images, one showing the film’s official poster and another displaying the Wicked For Good movie poster featuring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Nintendo and Illumination revealed The Super Mario Galaxy Movie title in September 2025 during a Nintendo Direct presentation. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic direct the sequel to the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie, with Matthew Fogel returning as screenwriter. The voice cast features Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Nintendo previously confirmed that the film will hit theaters in the United States on April 3, 2026, and in Japan on April 24. Universal Pictures will distribute the movie, while Illumination and Nintendo produce it. Illumination Studios Paris, which also animated the first Super Mario Bros. Movie, is leading the animation work.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri first teased continued collaboration after the success of the 2023 film. Meledandri and series creator Shigeru Miyamoto later confirmed the new project during Mario Day 2024, describing it as a “new Super Mario Bros. movie.”
