The relationship between Elon Musk and Donald Trump looks to be improving despite their icy feud during the summer. The Tesla CEO has a fallout with the president after he spoke out against Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” after he left the administration and his leadership role at DOGE. Musk had also announced his own “American Party” as a third-party option that would threaten to pull votes from Republicans. Despite that, the pair was seen conversing with one another at a memorial event for Charlie Kick in September. Trump has shared his thoughts on how he views the world’s richest man since then.
Trump says he “always will” like Elon Musk
Speaking on C-Span (via X, formerly Twitter), Trump suggests that his heated feud with Elon Musk is beginning to fade, saying that he has spoken “a little bit” with him in recent months.
“During Charlie’s beautiful tribute, Elon came up,” Trump said to reporters on Air Force One on Monday, October 27. “It’s good with him. I like Elon; I’ve always liked Elon.”
At the tribute, both were seen shaking hands with one another, with Musk later posting a photo of the pair on X with the caption: “For Charlie.”
This is despite the fact that the president admits that Musk had “a bad spell” or “a bad period” over the summer. “It was a stupid moment in his life, very stupid,” the president responded. “I’m sure he’d tell you that.”
Still, Trump complimented Musk as “a nice guy” and “a very capable guy,” finishing his comments by saying, “I like Elon and I suspect I’ll always like him.”
Last week, it was reported that Musk’s SpaceX will be upgrading its rockets to take humans to the moon. The Tesla CEO was also briefly dethroned as the world’s richest man in September by Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle.
