Joy Behar Wants More Republicans on The View, But They’re Too ‘Scared’

The View co-host Joy Behar acknowledged that she wants to see more Republicans on the show after a heated interview with Cheryl Hines on her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in a segment on Tuesday, October 14. But she believes that Republicans, and particularly Republican men, are too “scared” of the The View panel to come on the popular daytime talk show. Fellow liberal co-host Whoopi Goldberg shared the sentiment, hoping that more guests like Hines would appear on the show to express their opposing views.

Behar says Republican men are afraid of them after Cheryl Hines interview

After an intense exchange between Hines and The View panelists, especially Sunny Hostin, on the credentials of RFK Jr. as the HHS secretary, Behar said that she hoped more Republicans would appear on the program, but said they “don’t want to come on, they’re scared of us.”

She cited a quote from Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene talking about “how she finds Republican men afraid of powerful women — well, that may be true of all political persuasions — but if they would come on this show and explain to us what they’re trying to do with this country…”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin reminded Behar that senator Ted Cruz was on the show in the past, though she wants more Republican men like House Speaker Mike Johnson and Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie as guests on The View. Before the segment was cut short, Hostin said that it was also “important” that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. himself come on the show as well.

Despite the heated interview, Goldberg praised Hines for having the courage to come on the show and asked her to return “because we don’t often get people on this show who we can ask these questions to.” She continued, “I appreciate that you came on, and so I’m saying come back.”
