The View’s Ana Navarro Is ‘Living Under a Rock,’ Says Trump Rep

A White House spokesman has bashed The View host Ana Navarro for her criticisms of Donald Trump on a recent episode. On the full show of The View on Monday, September 29, Navarro commented on the indictment of former FBI director James Comey, saying that this was yet another example of the Trump “silencing us through fear.” She believed that this is “how dictatorships work,” a statement which has made White House rep Abigail Jackson say that Navarro is “living under a rock.”

White House reps continues to publicly argue with critics

The Nicaragua-American Ana Navarro didn’t mince words on The View’s Monday broadcast. The political strategist believed that Trump had not yet delivered on his promise to end the wars, particularly in Ukraine and Gaza, and lower the cost of groceries. The one thing he has delivered on, she says, is “retribution” in that Trump hates Comey “very personally,” despite the fact that she thinks the president should thank him for reopening the investigation against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

But on a broader point, Navarro connected the White House’s actions against Comey as another attack on dissent, whether it’s the “media or universities or people with a big platform.” That is “how dictatorships work…by silencing the people with the big platforms, but then they get to regular Americans.” On this front, she believed that the Trump administration “gets worse by the day.” Prior host Rosie O’Donnell said that The View could get canceled for speaking “the truth.”

In response, Abigail Jackson made a statement to Entertainment Weekly, calling Navarro someone with “brain-numbingly dumb takes.” She condemned her remarks for not mentioning what happened during the pandemic. “Was Ana Navarro living under a rock during the Biden administration? Or did she just choose not to talk about Joe Biden censoring Americans for sharing info about COVID-19 on social media…”

Jackson’s response continued by describing Comey’s indictment as Trump’s attempt to “restoring integrity to our justice system” and diminishing the impact of Navarro’s words “because no one watches The View anyway.” On the contrary, the talk show’s Season 29 premiere on September 8 was its most-watched premiere in the last five years, according to Variety.

Navarro has also sparked controversy this month on her remarks about Jenna Ortega’s dress at the Emmys.
