Better Call Saul: Bob Odenkirk on if He’d Return as Saul Goodman

Three years after the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, concluded its six-season run on the small screen, Bob Odenkirk has come out to clarify if he’d return for a possible revival or continuation of the award-winning series. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his desire to once again take up the mantle of Jimmy McGill, as well as the feasibility of such a proposition coming to fruition.

Bob Odenkirk responds to Better Call Saul return possibility

The Nobody star recently noted that while he is totally up for reprising his role as the charismatic Saul Goodman, he does not see it happening anytime soon.

Talking to Today about whether he would opt to feature in a potential revival of the Better Call Saul series, Bob Odenkirk simply said, “Of course I would do it.”

The veteran actor further explained his appreciation for the role, stating, “That part turned my life around, and I’ve given more to that part than anything I’ve done. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould created that show. They are some of the best writers who ever worked in TV. So if they were to think of something in that world, of course, I would do it.”

The final episode of Better Call Saul Season 6 sees Odenkirk’s character admitting to all his wrongdoings, including his contribution to the drug empire of Bryan Cranston’s Walter White. As such, Jimmy McGill, AKA Saul Goodman, receives an 86-year prison sentence, with the show ending with the titular lawyer going to jail.

“He’s not getting out [of prison],” Odenkirk noted while talking about the fate of his Better Call Saul character. “If there’s another Saul show, it takes place inside prison,” he added. Nevertheless, the 62-year-old thespian continued to maintain skepticism regarding a possible Better Call Saul revival. “But I don’t think so,” he said.

“I think they’ve all moved on to some more amazing projects that you’ll soon see,” Bon Odenkirk remarked while alluding to Gilligan and Gould’s plans. Currently, Vince Gilligan is working on a science fiction drama titled Pluribus, which is set to come out on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025.
