Ted Lasso Season 4 Release Date Window Teased by Warner Bros. TV Head

Channing Dungey, the Warner Bros. Television Group and current WBD US Networks Chairman and CEO, recently gave an update on the release date of Ted Lasso Season 4. The popular sports comedy-drama series premiered on Apple TV+ on August 14, 2020. Seasons 2 and 3 subsequently came out on July 23, 2021, and March 15, 2023. Series co-creator Bill Lawrence said at one point that Ted Lasso was conceptualized as a three-season show. However, conversations about a potential fourth season continued to circulate, and it was eventually greenlit in March 2025.

Dungey said during an interview with Variety that Ted Lasso Season 4 could potentially debut on Apple TV+ sometime in mid-2026. “Can you believe we are back in production?” she asked, referring to the fact that Season 4 began filming last month.

The executive continued, “This was one of those ones where I was like, ‘I don’t know if we were going to get there,’ but we are here now. I’m really excited about the new cast.” She disclosed that while they didn’t have “a firm date yet from Apple,” they were “talking right now about mid-year next year.” Dungey added, “So your guess is as good as mine as to what that actually means. But I would say sometime from Q2 forward.”

Notably, series star Jason Sudeikis developed Ted Lasso along with Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly from the character he played in a series of promotional materials for NBC Sports’ coverage of the English Premier League.

The returning cast members for the upcoming season include Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton. Some of the new cast members for Season 4 are Faye Marsay, Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Abbie Hern, Rex Hayes, and Aisling Sharkey. Additionally, Grant Feely has replaced Gus Turner as Ted’s son, Henry, in the cast.
