Ted Lasso Actor Says Season 4 Renewal Is Like Exhuming a ‘Buried’ Dog

As fans await more details about the release date of Ted Lasso Season 4, Hannah Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton in the series, has shared her thoughts on the upcoming installment of the show. In a recent interview, the Game of Thrones alum expressed her excitement for Ted Lasso’s fourth season while comparing Apple TV+’s decision to renew the series to the exhumation of a buried dog.

Hannah Waddingham is excited for Ted Lasso getting ‘exhumed’ for Season 4

While speaking with Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the recent premiere for The Smurfs in Los Angeles, Hannah Waddingham commented on the surprise renewal of Ted Lasso, stating that she is looking forward to seeing how the journey of her character, Rebecca, unfolds in Season 4.

“It feels like it was the most beautiful, beloved dog that was buried, and now we’ve exhumed it, and I am here for it,” the 50-year-old actress remarked. She also added, “I was hankering and hankering and hankering and hankering to see where Rebecca had gone, where she was going to. She’s my girl. She’s in my bloodstream, so I’m thrilled that it’s been exhumed.”

Failing to contain her enthusiasm for the forthcoming Ted Lasso Season 4, Waddingham concluded her account by saying, “I can’t wait to get involved with that and put my penneth in and go shopping for her looks.”

Notably, Brett Goldstein, who plays the no-nonsense retired soccer star Roy Kent in the series, shared a similar comment about Season 4 in an earlier interview. The actor noted that he had a university friend who, unfortunately, lost his cat in an accident. However, after burying the dead animal, they discovered that their pet was actually alive, and that they had conducted a funeral for a similar-looking cat. Drawing parallels between this incident and Ted Lasso getting renewed, Goldstein said, “I feel like that kid. Like ‘We buried it. We all cried, we had a funeral. Are you saying we can bring anything back?’ It’s too much power.”

At the time of writing, Apple TV+ has not yet given an official release date to Ted Lasso Season 4.
