The release dates for The Chosen Season 6 finale and the first episode of Season 7 have been confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. The two chapters will exclusively premiere in theaters before eventually making their way onto streaming.
The Chosen Season 6 finale gets theatrical release date for March 2027
The Chosen Season 6 finale will make its debut as a feature film in theaters on March 12, 2027 (via Deadline).
So far, the show has spanned four seasons, with a fifth edition currently on track to premiere on Prime Video on June 15, 2025. Having made its small-screen debut back in 2017, The Chosen provides a comprehensive take on the pioneering life of Jesus. Taking place in first-century Israel, the series encapsulates all the different stages of the enigmatic figure’s life, while highlighting his profound teachings in an organic manner.
The Chosen Season 6 will depict the crucifixion of Jesus and will conclude the chapter. The initial episodes of the series’ sixth installment will come out on Prime Video prior to the theatrical release of its finale.
The Chosen Season 7 Episode 1 to release in theaters in March 2028
Meanwhile, The Chosen Season 7 will kickstart its proceedings with a feature-length film as well, with its debut episode set to come out on the big screens on March 31, 2028. The seventh season in the franchise will explore the story of Jesus’ resurrection, all the while serving as the show’s final installment. Fans will be able to catch all the remaining episodes of Season 7 on Prime Video after the theatrical premiere of its first episode.
