Deborra-Lee Furness feels ‘shattered’ amid Hugh Jackman’s new move
Hugh Jackman‘s estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, is reportedly feeling “shattered” amid reports of the actor living with his new girlfriend at their NYC home. As per a New Idea report, Sutton Foster has shifted to Jackman’s multi-million-dollar penthouse that he bought together with Furness.
An insider told the publication, “She’s (Foster) slowly migrating her things over to Hugh’s place.” The source further claimed, “Of course they’re living together, they’re inseparable.” The source also said that Foster’s move to Jackman’s new house has impacted his ex-wife, Furness.
The insider explained, “This was their ultimate family dream home and a space that was meant to reboot their marriage. A year later, they would be filing for divorce.” Reportedly, the Oscar-nominated star bought the lavish penthouse with his ex-wife in 2022 for $33 million.
Another source said that Furness wanted a fair treatment and that “this isn’t about Jackman moving on.” The close friend of the couple noted, “She’s genuinely worried about Hugh and thinks he’s moving way too fast. She wants him to be happy – he deserves it and so do the kids, but Hugh’s completely green when it comes to dating.”
Furthermore, the insiders have claimed that Furness feels the Marvel star is “leaping into something else way too soon.” A second friend of Furness’ has opined, “It’s almost unreal seeing Sutton reap the rewards of all those years of her supporting Hugh.” The friend added, “She thought Hugh would be more subtle, but this feels like a betrayal of their 27 years.”
The marriage between Jackman and Furness has lasted for close to three decades. The couple officially tied the knot on April 11, 1996. They share two kids together, Oscar Maximilian Jackman and Ava Eliot Jackman.
The couple announced the end of their marriage in September 2023. In a statement to PEOPLE, the couple said, “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
