Spider-Man 4 Rumor: Michael Mando to Return as Scorpion in Brand New Day

A new rumor suggests that Michael Mando’s Scorpion might join the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Sadie Sink, Spider-Man 4 is set to arrive in theaters in July next year. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the Marvel Studios production will begin filming in the summer of 2025.

Michael Mando said to be back in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Mac Gargan

According to a new update by a renowned internet scooper, the Better Call Saul actor might return to play the role of Scorpion in Spider-Man 4.

@MyTimeToShineHello shared the same in a new post on X (formerly Twitter). They stated, “I have confirmed Michael Mando will reprise his role as Scorpion in Spider-Man Brand New Day.”

This comes after an Instagram user named Chris Higashi claimed that Scorpion was one of the villains to show up in the movie. As reported by SuperHeroHype, Higashi was present at the Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products panel. He claimed in his now-deleted Instagram story that Boomerang, Tombstone, and Scorpion are appearing in Spider-Man 4.

Apart from these characters, Mister Negative is speculated to be the main antagonist of the movie. Additionally, there are rumors that actor Steven Yeun is the top candidate to play this character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, none of these fan speculations have been confirmed by Marvel or Sony yet.

For the unversed, Michael Mando appeared in the 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming as Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion. While speaking to Screen Rant about a Scorpion movie in April 2020, the actor described it as a “fascinating” idea.

Mando added, “Mac Gargan kind of goes a little bit insane, and there’s also this other story where he becomes Venom as well. I think it’s a very, very rich character; it’s a dark character. And he’s a cop at the end of the day; he’s a detective. I think that’d be something that I would definitely be something I’d like to watch.”
