Fans of the Nick Park-created Shaun the Sheep series have much to rejoice about as the next movie in the franchise has officially received a release date window. Aardman Animations, renowned for its stop-motion IPs, including Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, has confirmed that it is working on a third Shaun the Sheep movie, titled Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, in collaboration with StudioCanal and Sky.

In a recent update, the studio declared that The Beast of Mossy Bottom has officially commenced production.
Aardman Animations also confirmed the release date schedule for the third Shaun the Sheep feature-length movie, noting that it will premiere sometime in 2026. While StudioCanal will initiate worldwide sales at Cannes, Sky will serve as the distributor in the UK, debuting the film in cinemas as well as on Sky Cinema.
According to the official synopsis, the third Shaun the Sheep film will see the flock excitedly prepare for Halloween before the Farmer trashes their plans by wrecking the pumpkin patch. In order to salvage the festive occasion, Shaun decides to turn to science, but inadvertently unleashes chaos, as well as a wild beast in the woods of Mossingham.
In addition to the release date window for the upcoming Shaun the Sheep movie, fans also know the team behind the much-awaited project now. Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow will serve as the writers for the animated feature, with Steve Cox and Matthew Walker taking over the directorial responsibilities. Meanwhile, Richard Beek comes in as the producer for The Beast of Mossy Bottom, with Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox assuming the role of studio executive producers.
While Aardman Animations’ aforementioned update clearly states that the new Shaun the Sheep movie will hit theaters in 2026, the report does not mention a precise premiere date for the film.
