Adolescence Creates Netflix Viewership Records for First 2 Weeks

Netflix’s Adolescence has set a viewership record for a limited series on the platform in just two weeks since its release.

Adolescence, directed by Philip Barantini, premiered on the streaming platform on March 13, 2025. Since then, critics and subscribers have praised the series for its gripping storytelling and performances.

Netflix’s Adolescence sets record with 66 million+ views in two weeks

Netflix recently released the names of the top 10 shows that garnered the most views on the platform, and Adolescence has secured the top spot.

After spending two weeks on the platform, Adolescence has clocked in a whopping 66.3 million views. This combines its first-week views, which were 24.3 million, and second-week views, which were 42 million. Additionally, Adolescence has broken the viewership record of the most-watched limited series on the platform in a span of two weeks.

Following up Adolescence on the list is The Residence: Season 1, with 6.4 million views. In third position is Running Point, which is spending its fourth week on the chart, with 3.5 million views.

Adolescence was written by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, who also starred in the series as Eddie Miller. Apart from Graham, the limited series features Owen Cooper as Jamie Miller, Ashley Walters as Luke Bascombe, and Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston.

Furthermore, Graham recently spoke with Netflix about how he feels about putting the show out for viewers. He told the streaming platform, “We made it with such love, such integrity, such respect, and it came from a place of passion for each and every single member [of] the crew — and I include the cast as the crew. I think, because it was made from love, we made our little stone, our pebble or whatever it was, and we threw it into the universe, and it landed in the pond. And the ripple effect has been, in all honesty, slightly overwhelming.”
