Denise Richards told a Los Angeles judge that the leak of her intimate images left her “embarrassed” and “shameful,” adding that the fallout touched her children.
As per a Fox News report dated October 9, 2025, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum testified saying, “I’m so embarrassed and shameful as a mom. [My daughter] couldn’t go to church.”, thus framing the impact of the leaked nude photos as a family crisis rather than a tabloid flare-up.
Richards said the event hurt her entire family
Richards said the incident hurt her entire family, underscoring how public circulation of her naked photos reverberated beyond her own privacy. She said, “It’s been difficult for my daughters, especially with the naked photos”.
Denise Richards has three children, two daughters with ex Charlie Sheen, and one daughter with Aaron Phypers. The actress is known for “Wild Things,” “Starship Troopers,” and her “Bravo” run, which cast the controversy as a breach of trust while navigating divorce and a restraining-order battle.
In filings, Richards alleged Phypers took her laptop and “disseminated private information,” including nude images, prompting a court order to return the device and an injunction against sharing any “private” or sexual material.
On the stand, her attorney pressed Phypers about how he obtained images. He answered, “I took pictures with my phone of her phone.” He further added, “This was stuff she was hiding from me. I didn’t think it was private. … My wife was cheating on me.”
When asked if he considered sharing these naked photos a privacy violation, he replied, “No, absolutely not. She was already sharing with someone.” Phypers has publicly denied wrongdoing and has rejected all abuse allegations, saying he has “never physically or emotionally abused” Richards.
Richards, through testimony, maintained she did not cheat and described escalating volatility, including a May hotel incident after surgery that left her feeling “scared and vulnerable.” She further added, “Our marriage was over because there’s been physical abuse, but it kept getting worse and worse”.
With divorce proceedings and protective orders still in motion, the court will decide what happened and what comes next.
