Meghan Markle Had All Eyes on Her at Balenciaga Show & Her Outfits Are Partly Why

Meghan Markle made her PFW debut with Balenciaga’s show, stepping out for Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first event. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex wore two custom looks built around capes — one in black and the other in white. She arrived moments before Saturday’s show began and left fans talking with clean lines, chic styling, and a clear nod of support for the new creative director of Balenciaga.

For her debut at PFW, Meghan Markle arrived at the Balenciaga show to support her longtime friend and the brand’s new creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. She wore two looks, starting with an oversized white button-down with wide-leg trousers and switching to a black sleeveless column dress after the show.

While Markle paired the first outfit with a shawl that looked like a soft cape, the second outfit featured a one-shoulder cape and pointed pumps. Her hair was slicked back, and her makeup was kept minimal for both looks. However, the contrasts between the two outfits gave her Paris Fashion Week outing a sense of the same silhouette but different moods.

According to Vogue, a spokesperson for Meghan explained the connection to the designer. They said, “Over the years, the Duchess has worn various designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage.” Additionally, they noted she “has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance.” They added that the appearance “reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”

Meghan Markle’s turnout at the Balenciaga show not only marked her PFW debut, but it also showed her appreciation for the designer. She has long favored Piccioli’s work from his Valentino era, including past cape moments on global stages, so the caped silhouette felt familiar and intentional.

Overall, Markle’s Paris Fashion Week debut was about confidence and sent a clear message of support for her friend.
