RadarOnline exclusively learned that Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife and Sutton Foster were friends long before the affair allegations surfaced. A source claimed that the latter feels “a tremendous sense of guilt and really wants to try to mend fences” with Deborra-Lee Furness because she never intended to fall in love with him.
For Foster, it reportedly “just happened,” but she insisted that “nothing ever happened between” her and Jackman before his split. She seemingly really wants to get her side of the story across to Furness, provide an explanation for herself, and “apologize for hurting her in any way.”
However, the “Wolverine” star’s former wife isn’t interested in reciprocating the efforts. The insider revealed that Furness made it explicit that she has no intentions of meeting her and allegedly expressed her displeasure towards their relationship.
Nevertheless, it appears Sutton Foster is “still going to persevere through” in her efforts to make things right with Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife. The source claimed that Foster believes “it’s important they have closure,” is willing to take her chances, and won’t hesitate to chase her down on this one.
Jackman and Furness exclusively told PEOPLE that they were going their separate ways in September 2023. Then, about two years later, the latter filed for divorce in May of this year, which they finalized a month later. In the meantime, rumors of a romance between Hollywood veteran and Foster began to emerge as they made multiple public outings.
